  10. CUPERTINO, California--March 10, 1993--John Sculley, chairman, chief
  11. Executive officer, and chief technology officer of Apple Computer,
  12. Inc. today denied rumors that he is considering the chief executive
  13. officer position at IBM.
  14.     "I would like to respond to the persistent rumors that I might leave
  15. Apple and go to IBM," Sculley said.  "I have told Apple's board of
  16. directors and our executive management team that I am not available
  17. or interested in being CEO of IBM.
  18.     "I believe Apple has a tremendous opportunity to be extremely
  19. successful in the years ahead, and Apple will be the most important
  20. innovator and leader in the industry.
  21.     "Ten years ago this April I signed up to do a job and there is still
  22. a lot that I would like to accomplish with all of us.
  23.     "I hope this statement will put to rest the speculation that I might
  24. go to IBM, and also serve as a clear message of the confidence that I
  25. have in Apple people, our management team, our products, and our
  26. vision," Sculley concluded.
